![]() We’d either love to see him as a fading celebrity searching for the spotlight (such as we left him in GTA 5) or as a young upstart trying to get a break in the radio business in some kind of ‘80s flashback scenario. Either way, Lazlow remains a series staple who simply has to return regardless of how it happens. ![]() As such, it’s almost a guarantee that he will appear in GTA 6 in some form. Given his lifestyle, we’d be somewhat surprised to learn that Rosenberg is still alive in the 2020s, but he could still be worked into the game somehow, especially if the rumors that the next game will be set in Vice City are true.Įver since he stole the show as the host of GTA 3’s talk radio station, Chatterbox, Lazlow has been one of the few constants in the Grand Theft Auto series. He was introduced in GTA: Vice City was last seen working for an aspiring rapper in GTA: San Andreas. Rosenberg is essentially a Saul Goodman-type lawyer who has endeared himself to the criminal community thanks to his loose morals and moments of competency. Ken Rosenberg may be based on one of the slightly more obscure references in GTA history (he’s essentially a reference to the character that Sean Penn played in Carlito’s Way), but he’s also proved to be one of the best recurring characters in the franchise. What we’re saying is that Tony Prince could easily fit into any GTA 6 story which takes place sometime around the events of GTA 4 and GTA 5. Naturally, that makes him a great fit for the GTA universe.Īs we saw in GTA Online, it’s easy enough to fit Tony into any situation where you have a nightclub, some criminal activities, and the need for a relentlessly entertaining character who seems to always have bright ideas that result in entertaining adventures. Tony Prince, the titular character in GTA 4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony, is a nightclub owner/promoter always looking for the next big score. The fact he was a criminal at the end of the line is part of what made his character so fascinating, but that could also mean that there isn’t much of his story left to tell. Still, it’d be nice to see De Santa drop in for a cameo in GTA 6. After all, it feels like GTA 5 captured the end of De Santa’s story arc. We’d honestly be fine with all three GTA 5 protagonists returning in GTA 6 in some capacity, but the argument for Michael De Santa is, admittedly, controversial. Considering how much fun Rockstar clearly had writing Trevor Phillips the first time around, there’s no reason he shouldn’t make a return in the next game. Trevor PhilipsĪs the runaway star of Grand Theft Auto 5, it should come as no surprise that we’d love to see the bizarre and insane Trevor Phillips return to the world of Grand Theft Auto. Is that realistic, though? It depends on whether or not GTA 6 adheres to the non-canon GTA 5 ending in which Trevor dies, but given that Trevor’s voice actor, Steven Ogg, has talked about GTA 6 in the past, there’s at least a slight chance that he comes back in some way. We’d fully expect him to appear in a present-day sequel. It’d be fascinating to see what Clinton is up to these days, but again, that really just depends on when and where GTA 6 takes place. There are times when he feels like he’s along for the ride, but he not only proves to be the perfect vehicle for the player in that respect, but we get to see him grow quite a lot over the course of the game. Kibbutz was also featured heavily in some GTA Online content, so it’s not unreasonable to expect that he could return in GTA 6 if the timeline allows for it.įranklin Clinton is one of the more compelling characters in GTA 5’s epic story. While opinions remain mixed on GTA 4 protagonist Niko Bellic, the game really does feature some of the best side characters in series history. Brucie Kibbutz may be the most memorable supporting character of them all.Įssentially a Jersey Shore reject, Brucie Kibbutz lives the kind of fast and stupid life that may not make him a role model but does make him a source of consistently entertaining comedy. He’s a kid who has decided to embrace crime in order to make a better life for himself. Considering that Lopez was referenced in GTA Online, it’s possible that he could appear in some form in GTA 6. Luis is the star of The Ballad of Gay Tony, is certainly one of GTA 4’s most fascinating personalities. ![]() Grand Theft Auto 4’s collection of DLC was not only some of the best content that Rockstar has ever produced, but it happened to feature some of the series’ best characters. Take Luis Fernando Lopez, for example. There’s a not-unrealistic chance Vercetti could return in Grand Theft Auto 6 given some of the rumors we’ve heard about its location and possible timeline. He enjoyed the cocaine-fuelled lifestyle of being an ‘80s crime lord and he managed to thrive in it. Unlike many later protagonists who were morally conflicted about their growing rap sheet, Vercetti loved being a criminal. ![]()

Once again, I won't spoil it, but it a memorable and classic scene, the quote that I have used to head my review is delivered by Wayne during it. Subscribe 906 Share 390K views 4 years ago Rio Bravo is a 1959 American Western film produced and directed by Howard Hawks and starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, Angie Dickinson. The second is a discussion on cowardice between Wayne and Burgess Meredith as the fleet is preparing to meet the Japanese in battle. It's called class, folks, and it is apparently something that modern Hollywood cannot or will not understand. It's a perfect example of how this kind of scene can be handled tastefully and professionally. I won't spoil it for anyone, but let me say that it is a classic example of how a scene can ooze with "sex" without actually "showing" a single thing. The first occurs when Wayne and Neal are alone together in his apartment, the night before she is about to be shipped out. Eddington (Kirk Douglas), whose wayward wife has already been introduced, at Pearl Harbor, early morning, December 7, 1941, in Otto Preminger's In Harm's Way, 1965. Two scenes in particular make this film stand out. In Harm's Way - (Movie Clip) Fish Or Cut Bait First scene for both Capt. Torrey also tries to repair his relationship with his estranged son Jeremiah (Brandon De Wilde), and finds time to conduct a "twilight romance" with nurse Lieutenant Maggie Haynes (Patricia Neal). On the personal side, Torrey tries to help his second-in-command, Paul Eddington (Kirk Douglas), who, as they say, is going through some personal problems of his own. But Nimitz (Fonda) knows that Torrey is a good commander, and when timorous politician-turned-Admiral Broderick (Dana Andrews) botches a key operation, Nimitz turns control over to Torrey, giving him a second chance. Wayne plays Rockwell Torrey, a naval officer blamed for the Pearl Harbor disaster, and demoted. Watch for Henry Fonda in a small part as Admiral Nimitz (referred to as "CINCPAC II"). Like other Preminger pictures of the time (Exodus, Advise and Consent) it has a big-name cast and an "epic" feel. ![]() ![]() As for the film itself, it is a character-driven story with the World War II setting used as a backdrop. It also marks Wayne's first of three films with Kirk Douglas, and his only film with director Otto Preminger. ![]() First, it marked his last appearance in a Black and White film, and second, it was his last film before undergoing surgery for lung cancer. ![]() ![]() Lithium-sulphur, for example, is now a cheaper and longer-lived alternative to the staple lithium-ion, with higher energy densities per kilogram evolving every year. However, with so many recent advances in energy storage, that is also changing. Most battery banks of a manageable/stowable size can only provide about 4 hours of electric cruising speed in smooth conditions. We don’t yet have the battery chemistry to match the energy density of a gallon of diesel, which is why many yachtsmen still choose the hybrid route. Modern Lithium-Ion chemistries can deep-cycle without damage up to (and even beyond) 2,000 cycles, and brushless DC motors are pretty much sealed for life. Electric motors and batteries – if well looked after – should need almost no servicing or ongoing maintenance for years. However, once the initial outlay is covered, there is very little else to fund and so payback begins. ![]() The kit is expensive, sometimes double the price of an equivalent new diesel installation. However, two big obstacles to marine electric propulsion remain, especially for fast motorboats. This one is from Italian pioneers H2 Boat, being trialled in a 24ft yacht using a control interface by Brookes and Gatehouse. The hydrogen fuel cell can offer much greater range. The two obstacles for electric inboard boat motors Meanwhile, smaller electric ‘toys’ such as personal watercraft, surfboards and even pedal-assisted water bikes can also eke out an impressive range by foiling to minimise the power required. German-based Torqeedo, for example, has cooperated with Swedish designer Candela to produce a stylish motorboat that has a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising range of 50 nautical miles on a single charge. Examples would be the Hanse Emotion with its ingenious rudder-embedded pod drive, the Sunreef Eco catamarans, the Swedish-built Arcona 435Z (Z for zero emissions) and the eye-catching wood/epoxy Spirit 44E.įor the motorboat sector, the use of foils has allowed relatively small electric inboard boat motors to greatly increase both speed and range. Several builders now offer new models designed around a renewable energy system. Note the large solar panels blended with the lazarette hatch The strikingly beautiful Spirit 44E is an entirely electric boat, including its propulsion. Plus the extra usable space reclaimed in the engine room, as demonstrated by Mark Johnson over the page, means a Pogo 30 can hold the same crew and gear as a Pogo 36 – a saving of £50,000 up front! Very often the boat can be configured around a high-capacity battery bank that not only provides the energy for the motor, but for everything else as well. The fork-lift industry, for example, often has a surplus of new and used DC motors that can be easily converted to marine applications.Īpart from the obvious advantages of silent motoring, renewable fuel, minimal servicing and precision control, electric propulsion allows for other possibilities. My attempt to discover Myst as it was discovered by so many others almost a decade ago was an enjoyable and exciting one. That was the logic that I used when I took my first peek at a Myst walk-thr ough, quickly gathered the information that I needed to get the code for the next step of the game (all in less than five minutes), and returned to playing. While many consider this cheating, something Mia Consolvo has effectively explored, others consider it a productive use of shared knowledge that makes video games accessible to more players. The internet is replete with detailed walk-throughs, explaining how to beat a game step by step. Some of this collective intelligence has gathered around games. As the internet has grown, it has been a repository for what Pierre Lévy has called collective intelligence. I had a choice that wasn’t available to them, a choice that as I played became increasingly difficult to resist. Friends who had finished the game, and most hadn’t, had told me about creating huge bulletin boards and walls full of maps and post-it notes in order to keep track of the information necessary to finish. This is not an unusual experience in Myst. After about an hour and a half of play, I found myself stuck. Perhaps the change that had most drastically altered my experience of Myst was the rapid and extensive growth of the internet. Now, instead of being a dedicated journey, it had become a world to explore and puzzles to do in the dull moments that are part of everyone’s life. By choosing a version of the game that I could easily pick up and put down at a moment’s notice anywhere at all, I had changed it drastically. In the early 90s when the game was released, it required reasonably powerful computing power and a game play experience was bound by these technological limitations to particular spaces and, generally, dedicated play time. The game saved at the exact point that I had finished playing, and it was all too easy to pull the game out as I was waiting for my student to arrive and quickly finish off the puzzle I had been doing. This experience only increased when, after exploring an underground chamber, I had to run off to a meeting. was surprisingly seamless and intuitive but I couldn’t shake the feeling that by giving up the mouse and keyboard, I had somehow radically changed the experience of the game. In the last three years, it has been re-released on the Nintendo DS, the PSP, and, most recently, the iPhone/iPad OS. It is over 16 years since Myst’s original release, and it is having a revival. I vaguely recall seeing my father play it once but had dismissed it as less entertaining than the speed of Sonic the Hedgehog or the preview of high school I got in McKenzie & Co.
