Oversees investigation assignments and supervises investigative work of EO Analysts. ![]() Coordinates with contract or part-time investigators as needed.Supervisory duties include task assignments, workload management, training and evaluation, authorizing leave and building a productive work environment. Provides leadership, supervision, direction and support to staff.Investigates and may draft responses to complaints brought to outside agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Justice and the Department of Education (Office for Civil Rights).Recommends appropriate disposition and follow-up following formal investigations.Write detailed, comprehensive and accurate investigative reports and related recommendations.Evaluates requests for religious accommodation brought to the university. ![]() Facilitates informal resolution of concerns as appropriate.Leads the investigation and resolution of complaints of the highest complexity and sensitivity, ensuring investigations of complaints are conducted in an objective, accurate and thorough manner.Advises university administration, faculty, staff and students regarding compliance with law and/or policy related to discrimination and harassment.Provides leadership, collaboration, guidance, coaching and support on all types of formal complaints of discrimination/harassment under the NAU Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy.Ĭomplaint Resolution & Investigation - 35%.Provide support and oversight in development and implementation of the university Affirmative Action Plan as required for federal contractors.Provide assistance as needed with budgetary and other administrative oversight.Collaborates with campus partners (Disability Resources, Title IX, Office of General Counsel, NAU Police Department, Employment Relations, Faculty Affairs and Student Affairs) to identify and resolve EAO matters.Advises supervisors, managers, and university leadership on compliance with relevant university policies and procedures, as well as methods to resolve conflict that minimizes risk and promotes effective employee engagement and workplace equity. Establishes and implements unit policies, processes, procedures, and programs to advance compliance obligations and ensure appropriateness and consistency. Conducts internal investigations of employment discrimination complaints and supervises investigations conducted by other employees and/or contractors. Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President, Human Resources (AVP-HR), the Director, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, provides leadership, direction, guidance, oversight and day-to-day administration of the Equity and Access Office and its functions. Position may require occasional travel within the state.The NAU system title for this position is Director, EO and Affirmative Action. This position is posted as Director, Equity and Access Office, which is a working title.Position is located at the Flagstaff Mountain campus.
