Third, you can park in East Potomac Park. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Washington Monument to the boating dock. Second, you can park on a side street near the National Mall and walk to the Tidal Basin paddle boats. The city will close the lot whenever there are events happening, such as the cherry blossom festival, to make room for food trucks and other vendors. It is also near 12th and 14th, which are both streets off the highways. I like the parking lot at the Reagan blg., as it is just a few blocks from the White House and the Mall. They are designed to prevent the utter chaos that happens when everyone shows up at 9:00 to 9:30am. They'd have to fight through rush hour traffic and the early bird rates are usually 8am or 8:30am. My guess is that it would be closer to $25/day. You could probably look the rates up online by searching for the garage management companies (Central Parking) or looking at Parking Panda. If you come later the charges go up and the garage itself could also get full. That said, getting in that early would mean dealing with rush hour traffic, on top of Cherry Blossom traffic. You're also near several metro stations in case you want to go somewhere else in the city. From that location it's an easy walk to the Mall, more or less in between the museums and monuments. I've parked in one on G Street NW by 13th Street for work, and I know there are a few other similar ones nearby. If you get in early enough (before 9?), there are garages you can park in for about $13-15. ![]()
